The Journey!

We wake up every morning in a haste, most times we forget to say our morning devotion (I know I do sometimes). We forget to think about how we spent the last day to discover if there are things that calls for attention in our lives. I read a post that says we live our lives like robots, living like we have a routine. I have being doing something since the past month, I spend the last 20 minutes before I sleep writing down what I did throughout the day. What this helps do is to help me recall almost all the activities of the day, it will be easy then to know what I have done wrong, done right and what needs my attention. You should try it.

More than just keeping a track of how your day was spent you need to actually live it. You need to live your life knowing that in a day you impacted a person, you helped someone and you spent your day living your life not another person’s life. What makes us feel accomplished for the day? Have you stopped at one time and asked yourself, “What for?” Why are you currently doing that which you are doing? For what purpose? For what satisfaction? Asking yourself these questions helps a lot of people realise that they are not living their own lives.
You ask some people, why they are studying a course and the first thing is a pause followed by it is a professional course or it is what my father/mother wanted me to do or it is “a make sense” course. Why not do what you love? And be happy doing it. You can’t fake happiness to yourself. You live life everyday faking happiness, faking the smile in your face when your life continues to count and one day we will live this earth and the only thing will remain is the smile we put on people’s faces, the solutions we provided, the heart we made merry and our afterlife destination. What will you have accomplished?
Life’s accomplishment is not living a satisfactory life or having so much money you can’t spend or having so much assets to be inherited. Why not take one step at a time? Doing the things you love every day. I used to live my life for the wrong purposes, saying I have to get a first class in my undergraduate study or I have to be as rich as Bill Gates but then I asked myself; what for? And I discovered the purpose was canal and vain. Now, I have dedicated my life to helping people, impacting lives, giving to the world, being a solution to the problems encountered in the world and living my life for God.

But chill! I did not say I quit school or I will quit school, neither did I say I don’t want to make money but now I have a greater purpose in life. I will use the knowledge I get in helping the world and impacting lives, I will ensure I bless lives with the money I get. Thrive to be a blessing to people, thrive to be a blessing to the world and this cannot be achieved only by having surplus money, but by having a good heart (Next topic). A lot of people in the world today are living an unhappy lives because they have not achieved what they have planned to, instead of them to make a meaning out of their current situation and still impact lives and live a better life. They forget the part of the scripture that says; “Giving thanks always for all things unto God…” in Ephesians 5 vs 20. There is a reason why you are experiencing what you are going through. Find it!

What to do?

I just witnessed something that made me ponder a little. An incidence occurred in which my friend's phone fell on the floor and his screen broke. What's the big deal? you might ask! I'm not writing this for you to pity him and probably send him money to fix the screen but i'm writing this to open you into the mystery behind decisions. Before the incidence, we were to leave for another browsing location but didn't because the slow network became fast again, then we wanted to leave for a place more comfortable in the same location...thats when the phone's screen broke. It was easy blaming the person that suggested that we shouldn't go to the other browsing location but the incidence has happened already and there is no going back.
Lets forget about that particular incidence and understand that we are who we are today because of the little decisions we make even as little as the route to go through to a destination. This is a parallel universe...what do i mean? Well, something else would have happened if we had chosen to leave for the other browsing location, it might have been worse or it might have been better but we can never know. People die everyday because of the decisions they make, for example, someone chooses to enter a motorcycle instead of a bus and ends up under a truck when if he had chosen to enter the bus, he might just be safe. Decisions as little as even how long you spend saying hi to your friend you meet on the road, the particular bus you choose to enter, the friend you met on the road (dependent on the route), the call you receive at a particular time and so on are capable of changing everything.
Did you notice how most, if not all, of the above mentioned instances are time dependent? Well, this is because the result of our decisions or choices are largely time dependent. We cannot determine or even assume the result of any decision we make but the only thing we have to do is ask God to direct our decisions just to ensure any decision made will lead to a future occurrence better for us. I leave you today with the mindset that your life won't be the way it is today if not for the decisions you have made earlier in life. Do a quick assessment now to discover if you are enjoying your life now, if you are living a happy life, if you currently comfortable with your situation right now. After this, you can now tend to make better decisions concerning the friends you roll with, the places you go to and the likes. At least, there are some decisions in which the results can be controlled.
What decisions have you made today and how have they altered your life in any way. What to do? I hope you know what to do when you are in a confused state, if you are finding it difficult to make a choice based on a calculated results then you should just choose one. If the result is great, good for you, If it isn't, make yourself understand that it might have been worse. Anyways, learn to live your life without regrets. God help us all.

The Beginning!

Everything has a beginning, this is the beginning of the journey, you were born at a time and that was the beginning of your life. No matter what you are currently doing right now, it all started at a particular time. Everything you begin, you begin it having a purpose in my mind about it. You started going to school because you wanted to get knowledge, you wanted to follow the norms or you felt it is the key to a better life. You started everything you started with a purpose in mind no matter how small the purpose is or how irrelevant it is. Have you stopped to think about this for a moment; why did my life start?

The bible says that for everything on earth, there is a purpose, this is stated in the book of Ecclesiastes 3. If there is a particular reason you were introduced to this earth for, what is it? How do you discover it? These questions join the line of a lot of other questions like, what am I supposed to do on earth? Who am I supposed to be? Who am I? And so on. The problem is that we have always searched for the answers in the wrong places. The only place where the answer is and where we have not looked for it is inside of you.

Inside of you holds the answers for many of your unanswered questions. Why did I find my purpose this early? How did I know what I am to become? How did I know how to live my life? The answer to these questions; I found God. Finding God is the only step needed to find yourself.  Why not take that step today and discover yourself. Hmmm….you still don’t know how this will be possible? In the beginning was God and in the beginning of your life is God. You need God to discover your purpose on earth and no matter what you hear from here you will need God to answer the questions.

What you need now is a new beginning...This doesn't necessarily mean starting life afresh though a lot of us will love the opportunity to re-write the stories of our lives, making less mistakes and trying to get everything right this time. What we need is a time out to look inwards...and not outwards for the beginning. Ask yourself questions like; what do I love doing? What makes me happy? What can I do for long hours and not complain? Be truthful about the answers you give because you are deceiving no one now.

There are no right wrong or right choices...what?? Yeah its true. Any choice you make turn out to be a new experience for you and you don't have the opportunity of seeing yourself in the parallel universe where the other choice might be the right or wrong one. As Steve Jobs said,"you have to trust in something, your gut, destiny, life, karma or whatever because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart even when it leads you off the well warm path". I trust in God to ensure that the dots will somehow connect down the road in the future. Your time is limited, don't waste it living someone else's life, don't let the noise of other's opinion drown out your inner voice.

Understanding yourself is one of the most complicated task to accomplish during your lifetime. Start now!
